Privacy Policy

Tabs, favorites, Recall history, downloads, site permissions and preferences are written to Casement's application-support folder on your own machine.

Saved passwords are encrypted at rest with Electron safeStorage, which is sealed to your macOS Keychain. A copy of the vault file does not open on another Mac.

Normal page loads go straight to the sites you visit. Casement adds no analytics, telemetry, ad IDs or crash beacons.

Update checks request a signed release manifest from the Casement update endpoint. That request carries only your app version and CPU architecture.

Search queries typed in the omnibox go to your chosen search engine, exactly as in any browser.

The assistant only runs when you invoke it, and only on domains you have allowed in Settings › Assistant.

When it runs, the structure of the current form (field names, labels, types) and the profile values you chose to store are sent to the model relay. Password fields are excluded from model input; they are filled locally from the vault.

Firecrawl page context is fetched only for allow-listed domains and only for the page you are on. Nothing is retained after the response is returned.

Sync is off until you sign in. When enabled, favorites and history rows are stored in your own account row in the hosted database and protected by row-level security so no other account can read them.

Vault sync is end-to-end encrypted with a passphrase you choose. The passphrase never leaves your Mac, so nobody operating the service can decrypt vault items. Lose the passphrase and those items are unrecoverable.

Deleting your account removes the synced rows. Local data stays on your Mac until you clear it in Settings › Browsing data.

Casement stores cookies and site storage on your behalf like any Chromium browser. You can block third-party cookies, send Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control, and clear everything on quit from Settings › Privacy & security.

This website itself sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

Casement is not directed at children under 13. Where a legal basis is required, processing rests on performing the service you asked for and on your consent for optional features such as sync and the assistant.
