Settings › Bookmarks lists every bookmark with search and a category filter, so you can rename, recategorise or delete in one place. Deletions are tombstoned, so they reach your other Macs instead of reappearing on the next sync.

This is the release where Casement becomes a properly signed Mac app — and the release where Intel support ends. Read the Apple Silicon note below before upgrading.
Apple Silicon only from 1.8.0
Casement now ships one build, compiled for arm64. If your Mac has an Apple M1 chip or newer, nothing changes — update as usual. If › About This Mac reports an Intel processor, 1.8.0 will not run and the updater will not offer it; your installation stays on 1.7.1 and keeps working, but it will not receive further releases.
What changed
Imports show a preview first
Password and token imports now detect the columns in your CSV or RTF, let you remap any that look wrong, and show sample rows before anything is written. Afterwards you get counts plus a per-row reason for every skipped entry.
Wider token parsing and plain exports
More otpauth:// variants parse cleanly, and base32 secrets survive spaces, hyphens and 0/O 1/L look-alikes. You can also export passwords and tokens as CSV, RTF or JSON to move them to another Mac.
Metal graphics on Apple Silicon
Casement asked Chromium for a Vulkan backend that does not exist on macOS. The renderer is now pinned to Metal — ANGLE Metal for WebGL, Dawn → Metal for WebGPU, Skia Graphite for compositing — so heavy Three.js and WebGPU sites take the fast path. Settings › About reports the live GPU and WebGPU status.
Signed and notarized by Apple
Casement 1.8.0 is signed with a Developer ID certificate and notarized, so a normal double-click opens it. No right-click-to-Open, no Terminal, no “damaged and can’t be opened” dialog on a fresh download.
Apple Silicon only
From 1.8.0 onward Casement ships a single arm64 build for M1 and newer. Intel builds are no longer produced, and the update feed will not offer 1.8.0 to an Intel Mac — those installs stay on 1.7.1 instead of being handed a build that cannot launch.
No more panel flash on launch
Reader, Settings and the save-password prompt stayed mounted for a frame before hiding. They are hidden before the first paint now, so the window opens clean.
Stricter update verification
Each downloaded archive is checked against the pinned SHA-256 twice — right after download and again immediately before the swap — and the architecture is confirmed before anything is installed.

Open Casement › Check for Updates. On Apple Silicon the 1.8.3 update downloads, verifies and installs itself.

Prefer a clean install? Download the signed DMG below and drag Casement into Applications, replacing the old copy.

Your vault, favorites, history and extensions live in the app’s data folder and survive the upgrade untouched.

Already stripped quarantine on an older build? Nothing to undo — the signed build simply stops asking.

- The password generator now has real rules: a length slider up to 128, per-set switches for a–z, A–Z, 0–9 and symbols, your own symbol list, characters to exclude, look-alike skipping and no-repeat mode.
- A live strength meter shows the entropy your rules actually produce.
- One click inserts a fresh password straight into the field you last used on the page — confirmation fields included — and copies it at the same time.
